About Us
Roger is a native of Switzerland son of an industrial mechanic and his mother was an office administrator. He was educated by the local school system in 1984 Roger began is apprenticeship in Blacksmithing. He studied under one of the finest Journeyman Blacksmiths in Europe “ Mr. Ernest Herrmann”. Roger struck out on his own in 1988 after receiving his blacksmiths certification. Roger applied his skills in numerous venues early in his carrier in order to support himself. Roger always knew that someday he would create his own company.
Roger served in the Swiss Army as a military policeman from 1990 to 1996. In Switzerland the majority of the military work assignments that are severed in varying periodic blocks of time. This allowed Roger to receive training by experts in knifes and firearms and still work in his chosen avocation of metalwork. Roger held various leadership roles during his army carrier. As a squad leader and a trainer of firearms and explosives he shared his skills. Roger is proud of his six years in the Swiss Army and looks back on those days as found memories.
In spring of 1995 working as a freelance metalworker he decided to create Swiss Bianco the new Swiss Army Knifes. Roger had applied the research and experience he had accumulated since he first began his metal working in 1990. Roger had a vision of a new type of knife that he knew would be of value to the group of individuals that required an exceptionally crafted tool that would become known for its durability and quality. Roger is continually study and researching new ways to make his knives the world class knives that have become known as Swiss Bianco.
